Listen to My Voice

There are many scary passages we face in life. No matter the type of scary passage, none is so paralyzing as the moment you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are way beyond your capacity to make it safely. What would you do if you found yourself in such a predicament?
One day, a lawyer was up in Alaska working on a lawsuit and he and his colleague were ready to head back to Anchorage, and then on home. Way out in the Aleutian Islands, a local pastor offered to give him a ride home in his small airplane. Against his better judgment he said yes. The pilot passed out cold when they were flying in the clouds. Was there any hope for their safe passage? What happened next is a life-changing lesson on how we will make it home safely.

Turns out, listening to God’s voice is the one key to living well and successfully navigating our way through the terrain of life. Jesus is the only one who can bring us home safely out of the perils of this world. May we each come to understand that we have nothing unless we follow God’s voice.

The one who holds our lives in His hands is speaking to us constantly. Do we hear his voice? Do we listen? What we do in response to His voice matters for all eternity!
