End of Summer Activities, by Erin

Although we took most of the summer off from Youth Group activities, we did throw in a few events to wrap up the summer. First, we went to a Mariners game! With nine youth and several supporting adults, we traveled to Seattle on August 26 for the game against the Cleveland Guardians. The game ended with a win for the Ms in an exciting 11th inning, followed by an epic fireworks display, and some wallets cleared out at the Team Store. ;)

With the start of a new school year, our Youth Group has something we haven’t had in a few years: High School Seniors! Some of them we hadn’t seen in a while, but Ben and I were excited to gather all our seniors who’ve been active with our Youth Group throughout high school (and who still live in the area). We gathered for games, hors d’oeuvres, and catching up before enjoying a meal prepared by Chef Ben. It was great to be with them all again!

We’re now looking forward to Youth Group starting back up this Wednesday, September 14, along with our Thursday Morning Coffee gatherings before school, at 6:30am at Whidbey Coffee.
